I would really like to be prolific, but the trouble is I often can’t think of anything to write about. I think perhaps the thing to do is just sit down and begin, but still, one has to have a subject or idea of some sort. I know this is an excuse for being a bit lazy and very disorganized.

Lilo, I am trying to imagine that degree of accuracy just with looking–but the person who measured me seemed to barely flick the measuring tape around, so maybe it was just for show and she could tell anyway.

This year my kids were old enough to notice the controversy. I grew up in a fundamental Christian home where Halloween was no big deal. Fun and festive. Nothing evil. It became my favorite holiday, probably because of the season, but I dress up as a witch. I look scary, but it’s not “evil.” My kids had teachers at church and school tell them how bad it was and they should talk to ME about making their Halloween costumes. I am still a fundamental Christian, and a relatively conservative one (in most areas besides this) at that, and I don’t go around telling everyone else how they think I should live. To me, they don’t need to speak that way to my children. They can offer their opinions, but state that they are opinions. My kids were torn, and I gave them a choice about trick-or-treating. They eventually decided to go, and it was so wonderful. Nothing in the least bit evil. Only fun and festive and so many other cute kids out.

To me it is personal, and I do what I want and don’t try to force others to do what I do. I would appreciate the same respect from those around me!

Reminds me of when my wife took me to The Town Shop, a lingerie boutique in NYC. (There was a woman there, who died a few years ago, who could tell your exact size by *looking*. And she trained other women to do the same.) I think a good, not-too-constricting bra is worth the price. However, I also sometimes find myself wishing there was such a thing as an underwire jockstrap! I feel better out in public with a bra on, but really enjoy taking it off at the end of the day, too.

Litlove, I think it’s perfectly fine to appease your vanity and just as fine to enjoy working in your dressing gown. I’m going to the museum today with a friend, and will wear my new bra and regard it as a friend, too!
